my new favorite place...

I have a new favorite place on campus.

I got the chance to go inside the Gordon B. Hinckley Visitor's Center for the first time this week.  It is the most beautiful building.  I can't believe I hadn't been there before.  Campus Guest Relations (or something like that) was hosting an open house for the offices on campus to come see the center and what it has to offer so we were given a tour and watched a video (called Journey to Temple Hill - it is amazing what went in to this University that I have the chance to attend!)

Anyways part of the building is a huge "family room" that is full of couches and chairs and tables and rugs and a piano and a fireplace and has gigantic windows and looks over the most beautiful view of Provo.  You can see the treetops straight to the lake and to the other mountains and it is gorgeous.  And it is just for people to be there.  So today I went back and spent my lunch hour writing in my journal and just soaking in the beauty of life.  The sun was shining and the windows let in so much natural light and the chair was unbelievably comfy and it was so peaceful.  I'm probably going to spend every day there until it cools down and I am for sure going to study there in the fall.

So now I have three favorite places to be on campus.  1) The Hinckley Builidng. 2) The JFSB Courtyard (only during appropriate weather) 3) The second floor of the library in the periodicals section underneath the tree and skylight.

I love BYU!

thoughts of the day.

excited thought of the day...
my new house has a doorbell!  we haven't had a doorbell in years.  we are going to have a real real house.  i am so so so excited. i can't stand it!!!!!

confusing thought of the day...
i am not sure about my major anymore... but i don't know what i would do instead. and when i tried to list my interests i came up with a list of basically everything. (which doesn't really help for making any decisions). and then i tried to list my talents... and i'm just not very good at that...

lonely thought of the day...
i miss curtis and tylor a lot.  they left a really big hole here when they left.  and it is going to be hard without them.

annoying thought of the day...
it is only tuesday and work feels like it should already be friday.... gahhh!!!! why doesn't the weekend come faster????

hooray thought of the day...
i get to go home in 8 days for 4th of july weekend! yay!!!! i cannot wait to see my daddy... and my mom and my sister and my brothers and my aunt and uncle and cousins and grandparents and friends and ward...

busy thought of the day...
i got called to be the bishop's secretary and i have a lot of phone calls that i need to make to schedule appointments but i can't until the executive secretary calls and tells me when he scheduled the other appointments for... :(

healthy thought of the day...
i've decided that i have to start exercising again.  my eating is still going very well but i really need to exercise again.  so i think i am going to wake up at 6:00 and walk for 30ish minutes and then shower and get ready for work.  i don't really want to wake up that early but it is too hot to be motivated at night and i really need to.

next thought of the day...
the only problem with that idea is that i am going to have to go to bed on time.  hmm... we'll work on that.

procrastinating thought of the day...
but i'm not going to start waking up early and exercising until later.  because tonight is a girl's night and i know i won't be going to bed on time...

very sad thought of the day...
and the reason tonight is a girl's night is because it is allie's last night.  she is going home to nevada for summer term and i miss her already.  64 days and counting down.

grateful thought of the day...
i am so lucky for the friends i was blessed with this year.  each of them are exactly what i need.  i don't know why i deserve them... but i am so so so grateful for each of them.

musical thought of the day...
i am addicted to relient k right now... thanks to allie and curtis... and their music just makes me so so happy. :)

yummy thought of the day...
we have angel short cake with strawberries for desert tonight and it is almost done... :D

planning thought of the day...
i want someone (not me) to get engaged so that i can help plan a wedding/reception/shower/etc...  i love flowers and pretty things and dresses and such...

fun thought of the day...
last night we went and rolled down the hill by the library... it is one of my very favorite things to do... i haven't laughed that hard in a long time... you can watch the video here.

goodbye thought of the day...
we are going to go eat cake and watch a movie... so my thoughts are going to that!

and they pay me $9.00 an hour...

Today at work I spent 45 minutes sharpening pencils for a professor. She needed 40 pencils for an in class activity and asked me to sharpen the box for her. Unfortunately our department has moved forward with technology and a manual sharpener was no where to be found. So I sat with our electric sharpener making a sound like I was "grinding cement" and that was "worse than the dentist's office."

Then, Jordan and I dusted and cleaned out an office that hasn't seen air in years. It was... i don't even have a word... but it was pretty bad. It took us forever to get all the little pieces of random junk thrown away and then scrub the desk (which we couldn't even get totally clean). And then we nearly got high off of the disinfectant cleaner we were using because Jordan had a little bit too much fun spraying it all over. :D

And then I did shopping online... for more cleaning supplies. Because we used them all on the one office.

None of the above items were in my job description.

Ahh... just another Monday at work...

ouch.

Spring term was probably the best time of my entire life. I've never been so blessed and loved and happy. But now it is over. And they are gone. Ty left a couple of weeks ago. Heather Jean left yesterday evening. Curtis leaves this morning. Alyssa is driving home today. And Allison will leave next Wednesday. And I miss them all so much already.

These people have been the most important thing in my life and have changed me and become a part of me. And I just didn't know how much it would hurt to lose this much of myself. It is saying goodbye to the boys that especially hurts. All of the girls will be back in 9 weeks (which as I found out this term isn't a very long time at all.) But the boys I might never see ever again. They are going on missions and two years is going to go by so quickly but so much can happen in two years. And I just can't imagine or bear never seeing them again. Those two boys were probably the best thing that happened to me in the last year (besides the girls) and I just cannot believe that they are gone.

I just love them all SO much and my heart is breaking to say goodbye.

p.s. The happy part is that I get to live with Rachel Jane for summer term though. I love her.
